We’ve been thinking about this for years.

It all started when one of our founders moved to a new home and needed an extension ladder. None of the few neighbors he asked had one so he had to rent one…..and he had to rent the truck to get it home as he only had a car. Just 2 weeks later he learned that a neighbor just 3 houses away had a ladder he could have borrowed.

Another founding member of Household Network.com bought a post hole digger to install the mailbox at his first home. Three houses, four cities and 20 years later, he still has that post hole digger and has not used it since that first house.

We decided that there must be a better way. We needed a place where local households could come together to share items and experience. We hope the result will be closer communities.

HouseholdNetwork.com is the result. We bring neighbors together.

The intent is for members to establish local Networks of their friends, clubs, places of worship, co-workers, or neighbors on your street, sub-division, small town, condominium building, or apartment complex. List items you are willing to lend or experience you are willing to share.

Most everyone is good at heart and willing to help a friend or neighbor in need. If you knew that someone on your street or in your building needed a punch bowl set for their party, and you had one sitting in storage, wouldn’t you let them borrow it? If you needed a posthole digger to install that new mailbox, wouldn’t it be convenient to be able to borrow it for a short time from a neighbor, local friend or group member instead of buying or renting one?

How many times have you used the wrong tool for a job? Maybe you could have borrowed the right tool. How else would you know that Bob has an extra card table and chairs that you could borrow for your party next weekend? Or, that Mary has an inflatable bed you can borrow when all of the relatives visit in a couple of weeks.

HouseholdNetwork.com let’s you have access to more household items, special event accessories, tools and expertise than could ever fit into any single household.
